19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since March of 2023.
Success also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.
The player's retrieving play style and regular outbursts on court had led some to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.
But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play positively, supported by an better service.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden professional championship, took control to force a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 initial opportunities in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
